"Exploring the Caucasus" invites you to a deep 17-day immersion in the heart of Eurasia, a journey designed for those seeking to understand the essence of three unique and neighboring nations: Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia. We will begin our odyssey in Baku, the Azerbaijani capital on the shores of the Caspian Sea. Here, the boldest modernity of the Flame Towers intertwines with the medieval alleys of the Old City (Icherisheher). We will explore the mystique of fire on the Absheron Peninsula and marvel at the prehistoric petroglyphs of the Gobustan Reserve, testimony to the region's first inhabitants. The journey continues inland, crossing changing landscapes until reaching Sheki, a historic enclave on the Silk Road famous for its exquisite Palace of the Khans and its "shebeke" stained glass windows.
Georgia: Land of Wine and Hospitality
We will cross the border into Georgia to discover the cradle of wine. The last week is dedicated entirely to Armenia. We will enter from the north to visit the monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin, guardians of medieval knowledge. In Yerevan, the "pink city," we will immerse ourselves in the millenary and tragic history of the Armenian people. Radial excursions will take us to the Hellenistic temple of Garni and the rock-hewn monastery of Geghard, as well as to the deep south, where the Khor Virap monastery stands before the majesty of Mount Ararat. We will also explore the wine region of Areni and the natural beauty of Lake Sevan. This is a complete journey that encompasses the best of the history, nature and culture of three sister nations.

DAY 4: Bakú - Shamaki - Sheki
