Dramatically located on a rocky promontory surrounded by the Tskaltsitela river, this sanctuary offers an atmosphere of deep spirituality and moving landscapes. A short distance away, the Academia de Gelati awaits us, a complex declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site that preserves invaluable frescoes and the history of the Georgian Golden Age. Subsequently, we will leave behind the city's surroundings to venture into the picturesque region of Racha, famous for its mountainous landscapes. There we will visit the Cathedral of Nikortsminda, a masterpiece of ecclesiastical architecture, recognized worldwide for the intricate beauty of its stone reliefs and magnificent decorated interiors. Surrounded by the serenity of the mountains, we will enjoy this artistic gem before undertaking the return journey to Kutaisi, thus concluding a day dedicated to sacred art and nature.

Today, we will begin the day exploring the majestic Vardzia, an extraordinary 12th-century rock-hewn monastery-city that will transport us to the past. We will venture into its labyrinthine tunnels to discover unique medieval frescoes and visit its ancient cellars, witnesses to the millennia-old winemaking tradition of the area. We will continue our route towards the imposing Fortaleza Khertvisi, one of the oldest fortifications in Georgia, strategically located in the Samtskhe-Javakheti valley; there we will admire its robust walls and enjoy unparalleled panoramic views. Finally, we will head towards Tbilisi to conclude the day. Although an extensive road journey awaits us, this will become a memorable experience in itself, offering us a continuous visual spectacle. We will cross dreamlike landscapes dominated by the imposing mountains of the Lesser Caucasus, where wild nature and peaks will accompany us throughout the entire journey until we reach the vibrant capital, thus closing a day full of history and natural beauty.

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will begin our cultural immersion in the vibrant Avenida Rustaveli, the beating heart of Tbilisi. On this elegant boulevard, we will admire architectural gems such as the imposing Parliament and the neo-Moorish Opera Theatre, as well as the distinctive Rustaveli Theatre and the beautiful Kashveti Church. Our tour will then take us to Plaza de Metekhi, where the historic church and the equestrian statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali will offer us privileged views over the Mtkvari River. The experience will reach new heights as we take the cable car up to Fortaleza Narikala, the ancient 4th-century defensive citadel that offers the best panoramic views of the capital. Afterwards, we will venture into the picturesque district of Abanotubani, known worldwide for its historic sulfur baths and the charm of its medieval streets. Our first major stop will be the imposing Fortress of Ananuri, a medieval architectural complex located 66 kilometers from the capital that has withstood the test of time. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore its defensive towers and centuries-old walls, which offer an unparalleled panoramic view over the turquoise waters of Zhinvali Reservoir, creating a perfect postcard of local heritage. Continuing our route to the heights, we will head north to discover the emblematic Church of the Trinity of Gergeti. This sanctuary, which rises majestically 2,170 meters above sea level, rests under the watchful gaze of the giant Mount Kazbegi. In this magical setting, surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Caucasus mountain range, you will be able to breathe pure air and admire the solemn beauty of this ancient monastic complex, making this day an unforgettable sensory experience.

We will leave behind the capital, Tbilisi, to venture into the landscapes of Kakheti, the wine region par excellence, crossing the picturesque Gombori pass. Our first stop will be at the majestic Alaverdi Cathedral. This 11th-century architectural gem, which rises imposingly with its 50 meters of height in the middle of the valley, will impress us with its sobriety and monumentality. We will continue the route ascending towards the Nekresi Monastery, a historic complex nestled on a wooded hill that houses one of Georgia's oldest churches and offers unforgettable panoramic views of the Alazani Valley. Subsequently, we will head to Kvareli to live a unique experience at the famous Khareba Winery. We will venture into its famous tunnels ("Gvirabi") carved into the Caucasus rock and enjoy an exquisite wine tasting, savoring the local tradition in an incomparable atmosphere. Finally, with spirits lifted, we will arrive at Telavi, the historic capital of the region, where we will spend the night.

We will leave behind Telavi to head towards one of the most beautiful corners of the region: the charming Signagui. Known as the "City of Love", we will stroll through its picturesque cobblestone streets and admire its traditional architecture, as well as enjoy the impressive views of the Alazani Valley from its historic defensive wall. A short distance away, we will visit the Monasterio de Bodbe, a place of deep spirituality surrounded by well-tended gardens and cypresses, where we will venerate the tomb of Saint Nino, the evangelizer of Georgia. After enjoying the history and landscapes of this wine region, we will undertake the return journey to Tbilisi.

We will leave behind Tbilisi to first visit the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia, Mtskheta. There we will explore its treasures declared World Heritage Sites: the panoramic Jvari Monastery and the sacred Cathedral of Svetitskhoveli. Next, we will travel through ancient history in Uplistsikhe, an impressive Iron Age rock city where we will walk among caves and temples carved into the sandstone rock. Our next stop will be in the nearby city of Gori, where we will visit the Stalin Museum to learn about the birthplace and career of the Soviet leader. Finally, we will continue our journey westward, venturing into the legendary land of Colchis, until reaching Kutaisi, where we will stay.
